Support to Disables

vishwa jyoti bannr

Under special needs, we are supporting various causes which provide special attention to the disabled. It is estimated that 1.5% of the population under 19 years has some kind of disability. And 35.29% of all people living with disabilities are children. These individuals usually have living and learning difficulties and need special attention. Unless the disabled are provided with necessary support in the initial years, especially during childhood, it is very difficult for them to join in the mainstream. Many disabled experience apathy from their families and poverty makes it worse. What they need is emotional support and special attention. We have been doing exemplary work in supporting and educating the disabled besides creating massive awareness and sensitization by running schools equipped with trained teaching staff and the right kind of environment to educate these children.

Apart from special education we are distributing equipment to physically handicapped persons such as leg braces, braille/audiobooks, glasses, hearing aids, tricycles for transport etc. Equipment of this kind is one time support but it changes the lives of these individuals. You can certainly make a difference in many ways in the lives of disabled by contributing to various causes supporting them. However small is your gesture, it will make a large difference in the lives of these people. In the 21st century it is possible to do so much more flexible working; innovative schemes; more fluid support with easier transition on and off social security. We could make sure that someone trying to access support can find all the information they need – work support, training, rehabilitation, beneficial advice and health care in one place from one supportive adviser or caseworker. We could improve the ability of people who still need some support to do a little work and make that work pay.

By means of the mobility and hearing aids project, we aim to bequeath a new life to each of those who have been deprived of the basic privileges of mobility and hearing for most of their lives. With the gift of mobility, these people develop self-confidence, have the abilities to lead a near normal lives and have the potential to become contributing members of their society instead of being a burden on them.
