  • The percentage of children going to school increase from less than 20% to 80% through the intervention of Vishwa Jyoti
  • Out of 580 sponsored children 80 are now studying in colleges which wouldn’t have been possible without the intervention of Vishwa Jyoti
  • The first even highschool graduate from the village Manoj Nayak is now studying in an Industrial Training Institute (ITI)
  • 40 children out of the 580 sponsored children have been provided vocational education (Beautician course, Tailoring, IT, Arts) and 18 of them are now employed and have become earning members in their families
  • 5 of the sponsored children have qualified in local and state levels in music and dance competitions
  • Two of the sponsored children have qualified in state level cricket teams
  • Behaviour change among villagers from superstitious beliefs and depending on witches or quacks in the time of sickness has enabled them to access to proper health care and services
  • Five households in the village have successfully taken up kitchen gardening through the encouragement of Vishwa Jyoti
  • Villagers have been motivated to keep their environment clean and use all bio-degradable waste to generate compost materials
  • Fifty families have been enabled to come out of being under the poverty line through provision of livestock and two families assisted to start grocery shops by Vishwa Jyoti
  • Through the awareness programs of Vishwa Jyoti the incidence of theft by the residents of Chachera Sahi village has reduced drastically
  • Villagers have begun to encourage women’s education which was not a fact earlier

About Vishwa Jyoti

‘VISHWA JYOTI’ is a registered organization to serve the poor and marginalised in the society Formed by a group of like-minded people whose heart beats for the poorest of the poor,destitute, orphans, widows, widowers and the neglected of the society. However, the organization is working among the poor mostly,in the rural areas including several indigenous people groups living in remote parts of the country in Odisha and beyond including the Himalayan the belt since 1979. However Vishwa Jyoti came to the lime light only after its registration under the society registration Act of the government of India as Vishwa Jyoti in 1994 and has ever since been serving among the poor and leading them from darkness, towards the light of knowledge, awareness and self-reliance.
